Water safety is so important especially at the Lake of the Ozarks. Too often boating accidents have happened and were caused by a boater who was inexperienced with operating a boat on the Lake. You need to know what to do in an urgent situation and how to maneuver your boat to safety. Freedom Boat Club can show you how. Our boat club at the Lake of the Ozarks is hosting a Training Session May 18 and 19. Keep reading to learn more about it.


No experience necessary!

Whether you love boating and want to gain confidence at the helm, you're considering buying or renting a boat and want to learn new skills, or you're just curious about boating, the BoatUS Foundation has partnered with Freedom Lake of the Ozarks to offer you the BoatUS Foundation On-Water Training program. It is a fun, easy, and affordable way to develop your sea legs!

There is nothing more important to us than the safety of our participants. Sometimes the weather can be a limiting factor on the water. If the weather forecast is questionable, we will contact you no later than 24 hours before your scheduled course.  Students must be 21 years of age.

 May 18 at 9 AM and 1 PM

Intro to Boating
Saturday, May 18th - Intro to Boating
Sunday, May 19th - Intro to Boating

 Intro to Boating

  • 3 hours on-water
  • 3-4 students per boat
  • Centering the wheel
  • Shifting gears and throttle control
  • Preparing the boat for departure
  • Steering straight at idle speed
  • Station Holding

Women Making Waves

  • Saturday, May 18th - Women Making Waves 
  • Sunday, May 19th - Women Making Waves
