Our boat club at the Lake of the Ozarks has the pleasure of serving so many kind people all over the country. What were your early or initial concerns or objections about Freedom Boat Club?
I really went in fully knowledgeable about the benefits this club would offer our family. As a former boat owner for 30 plus years, I knew that I no longer wanted the financial and physical responsibility that private boat ownership entailed.
How would you describe your experiences since becoming a member?
I really love the boat club, and utilize my membership ALL year. Captain Jim and Chef Mary make everything so easy. We take out our friends and family, especially grandchildren, and the boats are stocked with ice and chill mats when we arrive.
What has been the biggest surprise about being a member of Freedom Boat Club?
I was surprised at how easy it was to get a reservation for my boating needs, with the vessel that matched my plans for the day... Whether tubing and skiing on the speedboats or cruising. and lounging on the deck boats, the requested boat was available. Another surprise was the ease with which we could use boats at other locations. We have gone on Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, and numerous times at 4 separate locations in Florida. In March we will probably try the Gulf coast, out of Tampa. Also, every place lets us take our dog along.In Florida, every restaurant we stopped At allowed our dog!
What do you like best about Freedom Boat Club?
What I like best is the "freedom" to enjoy boating without the responsibility of boat cost, fees, upkeep and maintenance of the boat and upkeep or rental of a dock... I love that I can utilize boats in so many areas. Next winter looking forward to boat hopping along the gulf coast
What would you tell someone who asked for your opinion about Freedom Boat Club?
This membership has been the best thing about our retirement (also in 2016). For the first three months of retirement, we were renting boats to the tune of $50 an hour. I spent more money in three months renting boats, then my monthly fees for 6 months with the freedom boat club.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Thank you, Jim and Mary, for making our Lake of the Ozarks experience so wonderful, and for your help with the reciprocal reservations. I wanted to attach pictures from our different boating locations, but I didn't know how.
