Warm clothes
While fall is a beautiful time of year here at the Lake of the Ozarks, it can be a bit chilly at times, especially if you're on the water, so bundle up. Bring coats, sweatshirts, jeans or sweatpants, tennis shoes, and warm socks. All that being said, the weather is just right for sightseeing from your boat because it's not too hot and it's not too cold.
Fishing gear
Bring out the fishing poles and bait because fall is one of the best times to go fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks. The bass tend to feed more heavily around this time of year, so this great trophy fishing weather.
A Thermos
Bringing a thermos on your boat isn't a bad idea because if you plan to be on the boat for an extended period of time, whether your fishing or just sightseeing, having a thermos can help can really come in handy. Keep your soups or your hot chocolate or coffee warm while you're out in the Mid-Missouri fall weather.
Warm Boat Drinks & Foods
To accompany your thermos, plan to bring some warm foods such as soups or chili and some warm drinks like coffee, cider, hot chocolate, or tea on your boating trip at the Lake of the Ozarks in the fall. Again, it can be a bit chilly at times and food and drinks of this nature can really hit the spot.
All of us here at our Central Missouri boat club hope you found this packing list helpful! We also hope you take advantage of the fact that is the perfect place to go fishing this fall. The Lake is loaded with a variety of fish species: largemouth bass, spotted bass, black and white crappie, blue catfish, channel catfish, flathead catfish, white bass, hybrid stripers, paddlefish, walleye, and bluegill. Most species can be caught year-round; they just change their habits depending on the season. For example, most of the year walleye, paddlefish, and white bass are scattered throughout the Lake.
